Schools and Colleges Committee

This Committee aims to promote interest in economic and social history in schools and colleges and maintain good lines of communication between teachers of the subject at secondary at tertiary level.

The current membership includes: Dr J Spicksley, Dr N Verdon (chair) and Dr A Capern as university representatives and two members of the Society who are school or FE college teachers (currently Dr R Carpenter and Ms I Jones).

The winners of the Young Historians' Prize Scheme for School Students were:

Sandeep Singh Gill (Holly Lodge High School) 
Christopher Shield (Haydon Bridge High School)

Each winner has been awarded £100 and a subscription to ReFRESH. Each school has received a £50 book token.
