Membership of the Society includes a subscription to:

  • The Economic History Review, published quarterly, with over 800 pages per volume and edited by  Professors Jane Humphries (Oxford) and Steve Hindle (Warwick); further details; information on institutional subscriptions and personal subscriptions (via membership of the Society).
  • Publication of the Newsletter of the Economic History Society has now ceased. Archived issues.
  • ReFRESH: Recent Findings of Research in Economic and Social History. This series, published in pamphlet form twice-yearly between 1985-2001, and amounting to 30 issues in all, was designed to help history teachers keep abreast of current developments in economic and social history. Whilst no longer an active series, the 30 issues have been digitalised and are available on-line as pdf
  • E-ReFRESH: a new series of on-line learning resources which are similar in purpose to ReFRESH but take advantage of developments in C&IT. The first in the series, authored by Vice President of the Society, Professor Pat Hudson, is on The Industrial Economy: change and opportunity in economy and society of Britain, c.1750-c.1830.

In addition, the Society is involved in a number of publishing ventures:

  • New Studies in Economic and Social History, published for the Society by Cambridge University Press; title list.
  • The Society's Publications Committee, chaired by Professor Nigel Goose, has recently inaugurated a successor to the New Studies in Economic and Social History. Entitled, New Approaches to Economic and Social History, this is edited by Professors Nigel Goose and Larry Neal. All enquiries to: Professor Goose.
  • Royal Historical Society Studies in History; co-funded by the Society; recent volumes include: Richard Toye The Labour Party and the planned economy, 1931-1951. Woodbridge: Boydell Press/Royal Historical Society (2003); for this and others in this series.
